01 · DEFINE THE EXPERIENCE

Start with what visitors will do.

Decide whether you are selling products, taking appointments, presenting a collection, displaying art, or creating a launch experience. A clear purpose makes it easier to assess the layout, rental schedule, equipment, and staffing you need.

At 154 Chambers, the open former-gallery main floor and clear storefront windows can support a range of proposed concepts. Sketch the visitor journey from the window display to the entrance, browsing area, checkout or consultation point, and exit. Keep stock, packing materials, and operational activity out of that flow.

02 · CHOOSE YOUR DATES

Count setup and removal as part of the project.

A one-day launch may still require access before guests arrive and after they leave. A weekly or monthly shop needs a schedule for deliveries, replenishment, cleaning, and staffing. Include all of these periods in the rental request rather than listing only public opening hours.

Send preferred dates and alternatives, the planned opening hours, installation time, and the time needed to remove your materials. Availability is confirmed directly; the website does not show a live reservation calendar.

03 · ORGANIZE THE SPACE

Plan front of house and behind the scenes.

The main floor is approximately 1,800 sq ft. The approximately 1,200 sq ft basement may support inventory storage by arrangement and is separate from the customer-facing area. Discuss how frequently you need to move products between storage and the shop.

The raised rear office overlooks the main floor and may help with management or security coordination. Confirm its access and use, as well as the bathroom, utilities, delivery arrangements, and any equipment you expect to use. Bring your proposed fixtures and installation methods for review before ordering or building them.

04 · BUILD THE RENTAL BRIEF

Include these details in your first inquiry.

  1. Business and concept: your company, website, products, and what the pop-up will do.
  2. Dates and access: preferred dates, opening hours, setup, deliveries, and removal.
  3. People: staff, expected customers or invited guests, and any production crew.
  4. Layout and equipment: fixtures, displays, checkout, lighting, power needs, and installation work.
  5. Operations: inventory storage, vendors, sound, food or beverages, signage, and cleaning.
  6. Contact: the person responsible for the project and a phone number for follow-up.

The quote and terms depend on the proposed use and schedule. Confirm required permissions, insurance, occupancy, and any food, alcohol, or event requirements before the booking. Parties and private celebrations receive separate quotes.

05 · PLAN THE LAUNCH

Bring the audience as well as the product.

Prepare a window message that explains your concept, an opening schedule, and a clear invitation. Coordinate your brand's website, social posts, email announcements, and any invited appointments around the same address and dates. The Chambers Street setting can add visibility, but pedestrian traffic does not guarantee attendance or sales.

After the rental, review inquiries, sales, appointments, and visitor feedback against your goal. That information can help decide whether to return for a longer run or discuss a five-year retail lease.
